Deepinder Goyal (born 26 January 1983) is an Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is the co-founder of Zomato, Eternal, LAT Aerospace and Temple. As of January 2026[update], Goyal is worth $1.6 billion, according to Forbes.
Personal life and education
Goyal was born on January 26, 1983, in Muktsar, Punjab. He studied Integrated M.Tech in Mathematics & Computing at IIT Delhi. Goyal was previously married to Kanchan Joshi. He married Grecia Goyal(née Muñoz) in February 2024.
Career
Goyal started his career at Bain and Company in 2005. He quit in 2008 to found Foodiebay.com with Pankaj Chaddah which was a precursor to Zomato and featured digitized menus of restaurants in Delhi NCR. Foodiebay.com rebranded to Zomato in 2010.
By 2017, Zomato was valued at over $1 Billion and in 2021 it became India's first unicorn startup to be listed on the stock exchange.
Goyal has also served on the board of directors for companies like Unacademy. He also joined as a Judge for Shark Tank India Season 3.
Goyal stepped down in January 2026 as CEO of Zomato while remaining on board as Vice President of Eternal.
Goyal has also founded companies LAT Aerospace and Temple. LAT Aerospace is an aerospace company focused on building STOL aircraft and acquired Sharang Shakti, a Robotics startup in 2026, focused on expanding to defense sector. Temple is a HealthTech startup focused on making wearables. Goyal has also invested in companies like Bluestone Jewellery, Continue Research, Park+ and Ultrahuman.
