Variant

The Miscellaneous Mathematical Symbols-B block has one variation sequence defined for a standardized variant. Variation selector-1 (VS1) (U+FE00) can be used with U+29B7⦷ CIRCLED PARALLEL to request a glyph where the parallel lines touch the circle.

Usage

Some of these symbols are used in Z notation. Specifically

  • U+2981⦁ Z NOTATION SPOT
  • U+2982⦂ Z NOTATION TYPE COLON
  • U+2987⦇ Z NOTATION LEFT IMAGE BRACKET
  • U+2988⦈ Z NOTATION RIGHT IMAGE BRACKET
  • U+2989⦉ Z NOTATION LEFT BINDING BRACKET
  • U+298A⦊ Z NOTATION RIGHT BINDING BRACKET

The last two symbols are used in combinatorial game theory

  • U+29FE⧾ TINY
  • U+29FF⧿ MINY
