Odo-Amu is a small rural village in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. It is part of the Okun-speaking section of Yagba land in north-central Nigeria.

Geography

The settlement is located within a savanna zone marked by low hills, scattered trees and cultivated fields. Odo-Amu lies west of the Isanlu–Ejuku corridor and is surrounded by farmland typical of the Yagba upland region.

Economy

Farming provides the main source of livelihood. Residents grow yam, cassava, maize, sorghum and cashew. Livestock—mainly goats and poultry—is raised on a small scale, and petty trading supports household income during market cycles.

Population and culture

The inhabitants are primarily speakers of the Yagba dialect of Yoruba. Christianity is the dominant religion, while traditional customs continue to influence family and community practices.

Odo-Amu is accessible via laterite roads linking it to nearby communities. Mobile telecommunications from major network providers are available, and basic educational services for children are provided through schools in the locality.
